Heart Lake is located in beautiful Otsego Lake Township, Michigan, a three-hour and fourteen-minute drive from the heart of downtown Detroit.

There are several hospitals and medical facilities in the area, including Otsego Memorial Hospital (an eighteen-minute drive) and Grayling Hospital (a nineteen-minute drive). The nearest airport is Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, which offers commercial flights all year long.

The lake is considered one of the most popular fisheries in Michigan and has species of bass, black bass, crappie, grayling, largemouth bass, Northern pike, perch, pike, walleye, and yellow perch for anglers to catch. In the winter, ice fishing is a huge sport on the lake.
